Central Campus The Office of International Affairs is available to assist faculty interested in developing agreements between UC San Diego and international universities and institutions. OIA facilitates agreements while ensuring that they adhere to guidelines developed by the offices of Campus Counsel, Academic Affairs, Research and Graduate Studies. We provide guidelines that explain the agreement development process, templates that facilitate the drafting of an agreement, and counsel to answer questions on the process. Health and Marine Sciences The Health Sciences and Marine Sciences Vice Chancellor areas maintain dedicated staff resources to support international collaboration building within their respective VC-area. For more information on international agreements involving these VC-areas, click on the appropriate link below: Information for UC San Diego Health Sciences The Health Sciences Business Contracting Office is responsible for negotiating and reviewing all agreements on behalf of Health Sciences - including the School of Medicine (SOM), the Skaggs School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences (SSPPS), the Physician Medical Group, and the Medical Centers - on behalf of The Regents of the University of California. The office assists with educational affiliations and collaborations within the US and internationally, as well as all clinical and non-clinical service transactions. • School of Medicine educational collaborations and affiliations must be approved by Dr, Maria Savoia, Vice Dean for Medical Education. • Skaggs School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences Educational collaborations and affiliations must be approved by the SSPPS Dean's office. Each international collaboration must be reviewed, approved and signed in the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Health Sciences. To be fair, the Business Contracting Office processes agreements based on the date a request is submitted. Please allow as much advance notice as possible, as negotiating with foreign universities and governments can be a lengthy process, even for something simple like obtaining signatures.
