UC San Diego and the World

About

The Office of International Affairs (OIA) provides strategic planning and support for the University of California, San Diego's engagement with the world outside the United States. While promoting UC San Diego’s reputation around the world, it assists the Chancellor in defining objectives and plans for collaboration on international education, research, and service with institutions in other countries.

The Office of International Affairs serves the UC San Diego campus in five ways:

1. It works with UC San Diego leadership on building our global reputation and forging a strong global strategy.

2. It collaborates with international partners on creating new capabilities that will help all to advance their missions of research, education, and service.

3. It serves as a resource for UC San Diego divisions, schools and departments on executing their international strategy (including Memoranda of Understanding).

4. It works with the University’s administrative leadership on reinventing our processes to make them effective and efficient when tackling the global mission.

5. It partners with the University’s educational team on administering the international dimension of education at UC San Diego.

Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Office of International Affairs (OIA) to work with global partners that advance UC San Diego's goals to be a world leader in teaching and research, while contributing to global well-being through international partnerships and service.
